🎉 Congratulations, Sterling Ranch — Your New Neighborhood School Is Taking Shape! 🏫

Honored to join Douglas County School District Board President Susan Meek, Director Brad Geiger, educators, families, and community members for today’s Topping Out & Beam Signing Ceremony for Elementary School 51.

Funded by the voter-approved 2024 DCSD Bond, the new school will have capacity for up to 750 students and is scheduled to open for the 2027–28 school year. This school will give Sterling Ranch families a neighborhood option close to home, helping students spend less time commuting and more time learning, connecting, and participating in their community.

As a former DCSD Board member, it was especially meaningful to sign the beam and watch it rise into place. A local elementary school will be more than a place for students to learn—it will be a gathering place where families build relationships, educators support one another, and neighbors come together.

Strong neighborhood schools build strong communities. I’m excited that Sterling Ranch families will soon have an elementary school right in their own community—and that this new school will help strengthen the entire Sterling Ranch community for years to come! 📚
