🇺🇸 Today, Sunday, May 3, 2026, we fly the United States Flag at half-staff from sunrise to sunset in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
We pause to remember and honor the 204 fallen firefighters whose names are being added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial during this 45th Annual National Tribute. This includes 97 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2025 and 107 from previous years.
The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend (May 2–3) in Emmitsburg, Maryland, brings together thousands to pay tribute to these heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice protecting others. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will forever be remembered.
The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to honor America’s fallen firefighters and support their families and coworkers. Today’s Memorial Service stands as the official national tribute.
Ways to Honor Them Today:
• Fly your American flag at half-staff
• Watch the live-streamed Candlelight Service (7:30 pm ET, with prelude at 7:00 pm) and Memorial Service
• Share their stories and thank the firefighters who continue to serve
Let us stand together in gratitude for these brave men and women and the families they left behind.
