⚠️ A match does NOT mean you were under investigation or suspected of a crime. It means your plate appears in available Flock audit records showing a search of the system.

Flock’s license plate readers are facing growing scrutiny over privacy, data sharing and surveillance. The Guardian reports that at least 56 cities have rejected or canceled Flock contracts in 2026.

What about Douglas County?

A June 2026 Sheriff’s policy documented approximately 64 fixed Flock cameras throughout Douglas County and along I-25, with access to some privately operated Flock data, including from HOAs.

Douglas County has approved a nearly $23 million move from Flock to Axon. But ALPR technology isn’t going away.

Castle Rock, Parker and Lone Tree also have documented Flock/LPR systems. Lone Tree reports 19 Flock cameras around Park Meadows and neighborhoods, including HOA-installed cameras.

ALPRs can help solve crimes. Residents should also know what data is collected, who can search it, how long it’s kept and who it’s shared with.
